GW Raise Campaign Helps Medi-Corps

The George Washington University (GW) has launched a GW RaiseChanging Futures campaign to benefit the Community Medi-Corps Program. The crowdfunding campaign, which runs through mid-November, is the inaugural opportunity to support innovative programming for Academy and regional high school students.

The Growth and Opportunities (GO) Virginia provided GW with seed money to bring Community Medi-Corps to northern Virginia students, but more funding is needed. Donations will directly benefit future leaders in our region’s most economically and socially diverse school systems. Besides the Alexandria City Public Schools, GW is partnering on Community Medi-Corps with the Arlington Public Schools and Fairfax County Public Schools.

The Community Medi-Corps Program will cultivate critical thinking, connect passion with purpose, and support high school students interested in life and health sciences careers. This unique program developed by the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences will contribute to economic resilience by establishing robust pathways and training solutions to in-demand jobs in our region. Students will be immersed in real-life environments for hands-on collaborative learning using both virtual and augmented reality in the Immersive Learning Center, a mobile STEM-H lab. The Immersive Learning Center is currently under construction and is slated to be delivered to GW next semester.

Gifts of all sizes to the Changing Futures campaign will have a profound impact on student learning. Together, we can close the opportunity gap, transform student learning, and strengthen our regional workforce. Support this exciting initiative with a gift by visiting Changing Futures
